Brookhaven Residents Create 'Start Brookhaven Right' Committee

The chairperson and treasurer for the committee were former Brookhaven YES board members and have lived in the area for 15 years.

An independent commitee, named Start Brookhaven Right, Inc., recently registered its campaign on Oct. 2, according to records from the state ethics commission.

The committee chairperson is listed as Shannon Cameron, who served as a board member for Brookhaven YES and is currently the vice president of the Nancy Creek Heights Neighborhood Network. SBR's treasurer is Christopher Elsevier, who served as treasurer for Brookhaven YES and is an executive officer of The Piedmont Bank. Both are Brookhaven residents, who have lived in the area for 15 years.

In June, Brookhaven Patch published a piece Cameron wrote entitled "Cityhood Is Absolutely About the People."

The committee also gave notice of intent to incorporate on Oct. 17, according to the public notice on the Georgia Press Association's website.

Below is the official notice of intent to incorporate:

NOTICE OF INTENT TO INCORPORATE Notice is given that Articles of Incorporation which will incorporate Start Brookhaven Right, Inc. have been delivered to the Secretary of State for filing in accordance with the Georgia Nonprofit Corporation Code. The initial registered office of the corporation will be located at 340 Old York Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097 in Fulton County, and its initial registered agent at such address is Douglas Chalmers, Jr. #1966986:10/18-2-bec

Mr. BM, there are a couple of ways this can be handled. And, it will be exceptionally easy with a malleable dumbed down conservative party in charge. True conservatives would not allow this to happen. Additionally, reread my post, I reference a “revised” study with the word “imagine” . . . Regardless, this is all in the works regardless of what the taxpayers want. Rep Mike Jacobs and Company will set this up for a slam dunk vote just like he did Brookhaven! Please pass the yellow mustard!
"E Pluribus Unum" October 25, 2012 at 02:43 AM
Brookhaven Maven...thank you for answering my question. 'encourage others to ignore the likes of you two'...WTF PMMBS. I asked a simple question that obviously you had no clue about. By the way, if you were going to ignore, why in hades did you make a comment directed at 'the likes of you two?' As far as leaving Brookhaven to live on a boat, why do that? I'm waiting around to get my tax savings, better services, more ethical, transparent, and responsive city government. I waiting for the likes of you to make good on your big, bold promises. But I bet you make big, bold promises to all the men you meet, don't ya.
Just wondering October 25, 2012 at 02:44 AM
Eddie, I have no fear of you, any more than Sandy should fear the libelous allegations she made about J. Max. Your crazy threats and phony endorsements are tiresome. Still waiting for your response about Sandy taking big money from the No City folks, so she can personally profit from her position. First you say it is absurd, then you say, ok, so she took money, but who cares? You are so full of nonsense it is pitiful. Buy American!!! At least don't buy Mazda!!!
Just wondering October 25, 2012 at 02:48 AM
Hamburger, is this a promise? If it is a slam dunk, I am in!! If you will be so kind as to give Mr. Jacobs your address, I am confident, there is a way to carve you and Eddie into the existing cesspool of Dekalb county!! While I have personally never met Mr. Jacobs, I am sure he will be happy to give strong consideration to your request to be annexed into Dekalb County.
HamBurger October 25, 2012 at 02:52 AM
Ms. Just Wondering, how interesting that you are clueless and have not met rep. Mike Jacobs and are not active with your current governments. Typical. To your room now with no special hamburger!

jw, Good chickenshorts. Expect an interrogatory.
Eddie E. October 25, 2012 at 03:00 AM
jw, Just to be clear, this is a discussion of political discourse, where all opinions are luckily welcomed. Since I don't have immediate access (should be solved tomorrow) as to who you are, I cannot enforce the legal remedies to ensure you put up, or shut up on the non-political and entirely baseless allegations you proffered relative to my non-political business operations. You might want to enlighten yourself (if that is possible) to the hours I have volunteered for enhanced EPA compliance, EPD stormwater compliance, EPA/EPD airborne emissions inspection, testing and maintenance as well as numerous passenger safety considerations that are finally bearing fruit. I don't like your candidate. Boo-hoo. But since you are a coward proffering baseless allegations irrelevant to the discussion at hand, you might want to contact your companie's 'prepaid legal services division'.
Eddie E. October 25, 2012 at 03:02 AM
jw, Also, here's a softball question, what 'phony endorsements' are you referring to?
Just wondering October 25, 2012 at 03:06 AM
Eddie, Honestly, I don't really care about your personal busines, it is just fun to see you get all uptight about it and try to defend it. So save yourself the stress, I won't be calling anyone about it. However, you still refuse to answer the question about why you said it was an absurd question about whether Sandy was paid by the Brookhaven No group and then later came along and said it is no big deal. She was a paid consultant and it may matter to the voters that she took money for her time to oppose the city while others volunteered their time to promote the city.
Just wondering October 25, 2012 at 03:09 AM
Hamburger, while I very seldom agree with your posts, I do enjoy your comments purely for the entertainment value. Keep them coming. After all, it is just and election, when it is all done we can run down to Five Guys and have a burger together.
Just wondering October 25, 2012 at 03:16 AM
Eddie, I did like the "good chickenshorts" line!! As for the endorsements, I think we all know who you are endorsing and why. To your credit, you have joined a leftist organization from which to spout your endorsements. For that I give you credit. Unfortunately for you, we are in Georgia, where nobody listens to that nonsense. Curious to know your endorsement batting average in Georgia. I don't know, but just guessing it is below the Mendoza Line.
Eddie E. October 25, 2012 at 03:20 AM
jw, Just sit quietly and wait. My people will be in touch. Sandy got paid a pittance and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the current election. The fat man is taking payola. If he doesn't like it, he can sue me because I am not a coward hiding behind a fake screen name. As to the erroneous 'phony endorsement' comment, last chance, put up or shut up. Your whining wastes everybody's time.
Just wondering October 25, 2012 at 03:27 AM
Eddie, Is this a personal threat? If so, i may need to report you to the patch! You openly criticize others with completely baseless allegations and now you are threatening me!!! Go to sleep and think on that one,.

Splitting Fulton County in half to recreate Milton County is possible. It existed in the past and went away. Similar to the city of North Atlanta being there and going away. It was recreated and called the city of Brookhaven. Splitting two counties in half to create a new county out of DeKalb and Fulton is not likely to happen. So be wary of living in DeKalb and contributing funds to help your neighbors in another county. They may just promise to make you a part of it, but that is really up to the legislature to make that happen. One county split is infinitely easier than two counties split to create one new county. What could the name of the new county be? Well, unfortunately White county is already taken. Maybe something descriptive of the area? The county of Commuters? County of Traffic? County of StripMalls? Georgia has too many counties already, so finding a good name may be hard to do. Should be another fun thing to watch, especially if the DeKalb cities get snookered into financing it based on the promise of inclusion.

Ham said: "You may not be aware, but Ms. Holly LaBerge handled J. Max’s correction in an expeditious manner. She said the others would have to wait until she could get to them." Like your doctor failing to notify you of a product recall on a current prescription. Indeed, the state may be held liable for all the candidates.

Easy money revolves around speed traps. Swallowing 285/400/85 ensures plenty of revenue to keep squad cars on the freeway to handle all the passers through. Milton County: A Nice Place to Cut Through. Brookhaven: Not your average cut-through.
Roger That October 25, 2012 at 04:55 AM
want to contact your companie's 'prepaid legal services division'. haha.... PP LSD.... someone tried to sell me that when I was out hunting deer one time.
Eddie E. October 25, 2012 at 11:50 AM
Bill, Of course 'Cracker County' is still available.
HamBurger October 25, 2012 at 12:30 PM
Mr. Roger, I once worked with a guy that was like a squirrel chasing a nut, always chasing his next fortune. PPLS was one of his evasive nuts! Please pass the yellow mustard!
HamBurger October 25, 2012 at 12:48 PM
Ms. Just Wondering, that is very hurtful . . . I make the best special hamburgers in the world and you want to go to that messy Five Wanna Be Guys place! Please pass the yellow mustard!
Eddie E. October 25, 2012 at 03:30 PM
ms. jw, There is not threat. You can either retract your false, incorrect, libelous statements about my Business (which is neither in the city nor is it in any contention for any political discussion) or I will endeavor to expose you and file suit for you libelous conduct. Are we clear?
Eddie E. October 25, 2012 at 03:32 PM
When one goes way over the line 'ppls' might be the people to call. If they have a job. Or, there may be some 'former candidates' available.
Eddie E. October 26, 2012 at 03:35 AM
jw, The window for your appropriate apology and retraction of your scurrilous and libelous statements is rapidly closing.
Just wondering October 26, 2012 at 04:01 AM
Eddie, I have a real job and don't have time to play on this board all day like you do!! Apparently, I have struck a nerve with you. With all the mud you have slung at candidates you don't like, you are seriously upset about one little comment? However, unlike most folks on this board, you will find that if I make a mistake or misinterpret a comment, I will correct myself. I was told by others that you have had EPA or state environmental violations in the past 25 years. If you would like to go on record and state that is not true, I will take your word for it and duly apologize. At the same time, I am sure you will be happy to revise the statement you posted yesterday as follows Eddie E. 8:55 am on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 "jw, No, Sandy was not paid by No City for anything. What an absurd question." Was this in fact a true statement on your behalf? If not, I would like an apology as well for your referncing my question as "Absurd", when in fact you later acknowledged that she had and that it was a "pittance" to you. I will await your complete response tomorrow, as I must go to bed so that I can work tomorrow to pay my "fair share" of taxes.

Some people have waaaay too much time on their hands...y'all try decaf for a while.
Terrell Carstens October 31, 2012 at 06:15 PM
Start Brookhaven Right? This organization has already tarnished their name with the disgusting, hateful, and inappropriate flyer they put out yesterday. Campaign tactics with deep pockets? Don't fall for this people! And I'd have this same response no matter what candidate they attacked. Pathetic!
Prissy Mae Millendorf, Brookhaven Socialite November 02, 2012 at 11:37 PM
By goodness Edvard! I thought that was what was living in your house right now! No need to drop a new chocolate pie to you!
Prissy Mae Millendorf, Brookhaven Socialite November 02, 2012 at 11:39 PM
Bill et al. Keep your flavored cigar smoking going boys. It certainly adds to the entertainment value that you bring to Patch. Just don't choke on too much smoke!
Prissy Mae Millendorf, Brookhaven Socialite November 02, 2012 at 11:51 PM
LOL Edvard... What about a broke county? DeKalb is certainly in that pickle for sure!
Prissy Mae Millendorf, Brookhaven Socialite November 02, 2012 at 11:55 PM
Well I think you boys can do better than that... How about Cigar County, where every good puff spews forth much smoke! You're all so experienced in that area of "discourse". Winkingly, Ms. Millendorf
