Brookhaven Residents Create 'Start Brookhaven Right' Committee

An independent commitee, named Start Brookhaven Right, Inc., recently registered its campaign on Oct. 2, according to records from the state ethics commission.

The committee chairperson is listed as Shannon Cameron, who served as a board member for Brookhaven YES and is currently the vice president of the Nancy Creek Heights Neighborhood Network. SBR's treasurer is Christopher Elsevier, who served as treasurer for Brookhaven YES and is an executive officer of The Piedmont Bank. Both are Brookhaven residents, who have lived in the area for 15 years.

In June, Brookhaven Patch published a piece Cameron wrote entitled "Cityhood Is Absolutely About the People."

The committee also gave notice of intent to incorporate on Oct. 17, according to the public notice on the Georgia Press Association's website.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO INCORPORATE Notice is given that Articles of Incorporation which will incorporate Start Brookhaven Right, Inc. have been delivered to the Secretary of State for filing in accordance with the Georgia Nonprofit Corporation Code. The initial registered office of the corporation will be located at 340 Old York Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097 in Fulton County, and its initial registered agent at such address is Douglas Chalmers, Jr. #1966986:10/18-2-bec
