Homeless Woman Charged in Park Towne Apartment Fire

Desire Ramos was charged with criminal damage to property in the first degree and criminal trespassing.

A homeless woman has been charged in the Thursday apartment complex fire on North Cliff Valley Way.

Desire Ramos was charged with criminal damage to property in the first degree and criminal trespassing, according to The Brookhaven Post.

The fire started in apartment 1327-B by a homeless woman that had allegedly broken into the vacant apartment. She stated that she fell asleep on a sofa while smoking.

Mr. Bret Heilbron, with Title Realty Management, owners of Parke Towne North, said all vacant units are checked on a daily basis and this individual must have entered the unit between checks.
