Could we please keep this discussion free of swearing? We all enjoy a good debate every now and then, but this is a family site, so no swearing, please.

Whoops! Looks like that was a mistake in the press release that was sent--it's been fixed.

As a GSU alumna, I'd hardly call the area a wasteland; you've got more than 30,000 hungry students and then of course the school's professors and other staff, all looking for places to eat. Have you SEEN how crowded Woodruff Park and the Luckie Street restaurant corridor gets at about 12:20 p.m., especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays? Yes, it's a little dead at the weekends, but since a lot of people take summer classes, there's probably not a huge precipitous drop-off in these months. But it's no wasteland--especially not when GSU is buying up all the buildings and doing good things with them.

ReplyH&R Block in the DeKalb Industrial shopping center with the big 24-hour Kroger. Ask for Margaret Lunsford. She's the best.

Donna, you're right. I wrote about this back in June and then later they fixed the signage problem, so I believe it's all systems go... http://northdruidhills.patch.com/articles/golden-corral-plans-meet-zoning-delay

ReplyThat Chik-fil-a basically killed the one inside North DeKalb Mall, though, so putting another Chik-fil-a right next to it would be like dividing by zero or something. I say a Dunkin' Donuts with a drive-through. The closest Dunkies is at North Druid Hills and Lavista and it doesn't have a drive-through at all. It seems like an underserved area.

I got confirmation that yes, private schoolers and homeschoolers can participate too. Game on!

Jonathan: Haha yeah, you could say that. I guess I was downplaying my enthusiasm thereof. Not as big of a fan of the Mariah and Justin Bieber version, though.

ReplyThat song has an unusual penchant for being "covered" by hockey teams...

and
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbV5091UpFEAnd then of course the big climactic scene in Love Actually involves this song. So I kind of like it!

It's OK, Hugh--just this is a family site, so we gotta keep the language under control, even if sometimes logging into different comment interfaces can be annoying!
