Brookhaven Fills its First Pothole
The repair took place on Mannville Drive, in Jim Eyre's city council district.
An area of Brookhaven that was most strongly against the notion of cityhood became the site of the new city's first road repair on Friday morning. The new city made its first repair at 1883 Mannville Drive, near the Dresden Drive U.S. Post Office, in City Councilman Jim Eyre's District 2 community. That area, bordered by the Ashford Park on one side of Dresden and the Skyland/Drew Valley communities on the other, was surrounded by the most vocal opponents to municipalization during last year's cityhood debate. City public works director Richard Meehan said the district had nothing to do with why the pothole was chosen to be first on the repair list. "Our job is to just fix the roads," he said.
