Brookhaven Swears In Its First Judges
The appointments were announced during Tuesday night's Brookhaven City Council meeting.
Brookhaven has its first judges, Laura Stevenson and Jonathan Granade. Stevenson is a solo practitioner at her own law office. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law. "Laura is a former Cobb County magistrate judge, and someone I know very well," Brookhaven Mayor J. Max Davis said. "She's experienced in all areas of law, and is very reasonable and soft spoken. I knew we needed a chief judge who is calm and rational, but also not soft when it comes to tough judicial challenges, and she will do a great job."
