Brookhaven Road Crews May Be Tested Friday Morning
City officials say they are ready if winter weather impacts Brookhaven roads.
With Brookhaven preparing to make its first pothole repair at 1844 Dresden Drive at 11 am on Friday, road crews may get an early test if icy weather strikes the area. In a Thursday afternoon email, District 2 City Councilman Jim Eyre told constituents the city is "planning for the worst and hoping for the best. "As we take over road maintenance at midnight tonight, we may be tested early," Eyre said. Brookhaven takes over its road repairs from DeKalb County at 12:01 am Friday, Jan. 18. According to Richard Meehan, Brookhaven's privately contracted public works director, his department has coordinated with Dunwoody to get salt and sand in the event that roads need to be treated.
