Roasted Winter Squash Gauge the amount of squash you’ll need by allowing 1 small squash (acorn and butternut are good choices) for every four people. Brookhaven Clinic Raising Money For A Thanksgiving Dinner

Beginning Saturday, Nov. 17, if you 'like' and 'share' its Facebook page, SmartCare Urgent Care will donate money for a family in need of a Thanksgiving dinner.

SmartCare Urgent Care in Brookhaven is raising money to donate to Families First, to provide a needy family with a Thanksgiving dinner. For every "like" the clinic's Facebook page receives, 50 cents will be donated to the organization, while $1.00 will be donated for every Facebook "share." The fundraising campaign begins on Saturday, Nov. 17, and runs through Thursday, Nov. 20, ending at 4 pm. Other than July 4th, Thanksgiving is probably the most unique of American holidays. I'm not aware of any nation in the world that has set aside a day devoted to being grateful for the good things in life. The links between Thanksgiving and our American history came together for me about 10 years ago, when my wife and I were vacationing in Washington, D.C., over the Thanksgiving holiday. We spent the day after Thanksgiving in Ford's Theater, watching a live production of "A Christmas Carol." Yes, Ford's Theater is still a fully functioning stage, and you can easily imagine one of our greatest presidents enjoying the performance from his hallowed box.
