UPDATE: 8/26/11 The first thing to notice after entering Brookhaven's new LA Fitness facility is lots of space - 50,000 square feet of it. A heated lap pool shimmers through the glass windows. Row upon rows of assorted weight-lifting machines fill the space behind the check-in kiosk. Giant inspirational words and images of men and women in action tower above on the walls. The entire facility is immaculate. Assistant General Manager Ameer Aziz beams with a smile and a welcome from behind the kiosk, and gives Brookhaven Patch the grand tour. "The $11 million facility took nearly a year to build. It's one of the largest in the country, definitely the largest in the state of Georgia," said Aziz. "It's definitely one of our flagship clubs." …
