DeKalb police are searching for the driver of a Honda Accord that was involved in a fatal hit and run last Friday night on Clairmont Road near the Jett Lounge. Police says Nikki Ogunjemilusi was struck by a car late on the evening of March 8 at the intersection of Clairmont Road and Bragg Street. She was pronounced dead after being transported to Grady Hospital. A police report of the incident said that, based on eyewitness accounts and evidence found on the scene, Ogunjemilusi was crossing Clairmont when the traffic signal changed from green to yellow. DeKalb Police are investigating a Saturday morning shooting at a Clairmont Road nightclub in which two men were shot, According to the police report, the incident occurred at approximately 3 am Saturday morning at the Jett Lounge on Clairmont Road, near the city limits of both Brookhaven and Chamblee. The police report says that patrons, Joe Lipscomb of Atlanta and Lorenzo Griffin of Decatur, were involved in an altercation in the club and asked by security to leave the premises. Outside, Griffin and a friend, Shane Sisco of Loganville, attempted to leave in Griffin’s red pickup. Lipscomb then allegedly pulled a gun and shot Griffin in the head. The suspect in Thursday night's officer-involved shooting is in critical condition, according to DeKalb County police. The AJC had reported earlier Friday morning that the suspect had died. Police spokesperson Mekka Parish told Patch Friday morning that officers responded to a domestic dispute around 10:30 pm Thursday night at Bryton Hill Apartment Complex on Skyland Drive. "Once inside the apartment the subject appeared with a weapon initially pointed at his head," Parish said. "The subject subsequently pointed the weapon at officers, and an officer discharged his weapon striking the subject multiple times."
