Brookhaven Resident Makes Coastal Carolina Dean's List

Congratulations to Madison Owens, an early childhood pre-major.

  Madison L. Owens, an early childhood educ pre-major at Coastal Carolina University, made the Fall 2012 Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. Coastal Carolina University is a liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. CCU offers baccalaureate programs in 56 major fields of study, including acclaimed programs in marine science, resort tourism and professional golf management. Seven graduate programs include an MBA as well as master's degrees in education, writing and coastal marine and wetland studies.

Two Area Residents Named to Lawrence University Dean's List

The Wisconsin university has two Atlantans on the 2011-12 dean's list.

Jaclyn and Ryan Kottman, Atlanta residents and daughter and son of Dr. Stacy and Robert Kottman, have both been named to the 2011-12 dean's list at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis. Lawrence is a small private liberal arts college that has arts and sciences programs, plus a large conservatory of music. Congratulations to Jaclyn and Ryan!

Two Brookhaven Students Get Academic Honors

Two local students have made the Dean's List at Washington University in St. Louis.

Two Brookhaven students have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. They are: Andrew Spitz, who is enrolled in the university's School of Engineering and Applied Science. Candace Ward, who is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences. To qualify for the Dean's List in the College of Arts & Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units. To qualify for the Dean's List in the Olin Business School, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 graded units. Brookhaven Student Makes Dean's List

A Brookhaven student has been named to the Dean's List at Villanova University.

A local student has made the Dean’s List for spring semester. Jennifer Niedzwiecki of Brookhaven was named to the Dean's List at Villanova University for the spring 2012 semester. Niedzwiecki is studying Finance in the Villanova School of Business. Villanova University Dean's List recipients are honored by their college's respective dean. To qualify, one must be a matriculated full-time student and earn a semester grade point average of at least 3.5. The College of Nursing requires students to earn at least 3.5 for the entire academic year. Local Student Recognized for High Marks

A Brookhaven student has made the Dean's List at Samford University.

A Brookhaven student is being recognized for top marks. Kelly A. Campbell has been named to the Dean's List for the spring semester at Samford University. To qualify for the honor, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester. Samford University is consistently ranked in the top tier of its peer group by U.S. News & World Report. Founded in 1841, it is the largest private university in Alabama with more than 4,700 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled annually.

Local Student Gets Top Honors

A Brookhaven woman has made the Dean's List at Denison University.

A Brookhaven college student has achieved top academic honors. Madeline Jones-Mills was one of 314 students named to Denison University's 2012 spring semester Dean's List by Provost Bradley Bateman. Students who achieve Dean's List status have maintained a grade point average of 3.7 or better (out of 4.0) for the semester. Jones-Mills is a member of the Denison class of 2013. Denison University, founded in 1831, is an independent, residential liberal arts institution located in Granville, Ohio. Area Students Get Top Grades at Oxford College

Two Brookhaven students made the Merit List at Oxford College during the spring 2012 semester.

Two Brookhaven students are being recognized for academic achievement at Oxford College. Thomas Bowman and Christopher Ryan were named to the Merit List of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University located in Oxford, Ga., for the 2012 spring semester. Students must earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the previous semester to be named to the Merit List. Emory University is known for its demanding academics, outstanding undergraduate experience, highly ranked professional schools and state-of-the-art research facilities. A Brookhaven student has achieved top academic honors. Alex Viguerie was named to the Dean's List of Emory College, the undergraduate liberal arts college of Emory University, for the 2012 spring semester. Students must be in the top 20 percent of Emory College or have approximately a 3.859 grade point average or higher to be named to the Dean's List.

Brookhaven Residents Makes Tech's Dean List

Three Brookhaven students earned the honor during the spring semester.

Three Brookhaven residents made the made the dean's list at Georgia Tech for the spring 2012 semester. Meghan Cogan, Lydia Merz and Hannah Shore all earned the honor. Undergraduate students earning a 3.00 or higher academic average for the semester gain the distinction of being named to the Dean's List at Georgia Tech.
