From Staff Reports Marist starting pitchers Blake Stevens and Brandon Liebrandt posted back-to-back stellar outings on the mound to lead the defending state champion War Eagles (29-3) to a sweep over Greenbrier (21-10) in the quarterfinals of the Class AAAA baseball playoffs Tuesday. The War Eagles won Game 1, 6-1, and wrapped up the sweep with a 10-1 rout to advance to the Final Four for the third consecutive year. Stevens struck out eight to earn the win in Game 1. Liebrandt was just as impressive, fanning 10 batters in Game 2. David Bourbonnais closed out the first game with a scoreless performance in the seventh inning.
