Davis Proposes $15.7 Million Budget for Brookhaven
The mayor has released his proposed budget to the Brookhaven City Council.
Brookhaven Mayor J. Max Davis is proposing a $15.7 million budget for the new city's fiscal year of 2013. In a memorandum sent to the city council on Friday, Jan. 25, Davis saidthe budget will present challenges. "Our first year budget revenues are significantly less than they will be in our first full year of operations and revenue projected for 2014," he said. "However, our FY 2013 Budget anticipates enough revenue to support a responsive and transparent city while remaining within the millage rate cap outlined in the charter. "For our first year, I recommend we adopt the 3.35 mill maximum outlined in the charter. Though my preference is a lower millage rate, I do not feel that would be a responsible recommendation for our first year …

Brookhaven4u, you lie. And here's the proof. You commented on December 9, 2012 at 5:20 to a post I made one minute sooner. I told you the year one revenues would be significantly lower and even provided reference to the CVI study where it pointed that out.
