Two Brookhaven city council members spent time at the club, learning more about the facility.
Earlier this week, DPR Construction presented the Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club a $65,000 check to help fund its academic success programs. Several DPR executives visited the club on Tuesday, including former Atlanta Falcon great Steve Bartkowski and Georgia Tech great Brian Oliver. Also in attendance were Brookhaven city council members Rebecca Chase Williams and Bates Mattison, who spent afternoon doing homework, art, playing games and learning more about the club.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) named Laura Ramirez its 2011-2012 Youth of the Year (YOY) at the signature Youth of the Year Dinner & Awards Ceremony held in early November at the Georgia Aquarium. Ramirez, a senior at Cross Keys High School where she maintains a 4.0 GPA, plans to attend Emory University and major in medicine. Ramirez said the Club is the place where she found the motivation to “be hungry” for success.
