You'd think someone would be thoughtful enough to pick up their trash!
Drove by the new Briarwood Park playground on Sunday, taking advantage of the sunny, clear skies to snap some pics. The playground is coming along nicely, with lots of new, brightly colored playground equipment being unloaded and set up. However, I couldn't help but notice that some thoughtless, careless individual just had to spoil the community's beauty by leaving their trash right next to the newly installed fence ...
Friends of Briarwood Park has been working with DeKalb County to monitor the park's improvements.

I plan on attending. I hope this is constructive discussion and not just griping. I have concerns, because this is not just a Drew Valley issue. There are other parties afflicted.   more ›
We hope installation will begin soon!
Thanks to Drew Valley's Steve Walker for alerting us to the fact that new playground equipment has arrived outside the Briarwood Rec Center. The area outside the complex, at the intersection of Briarwood Road and Briarwood Way, has recently seen the installation of black fencing; sidewalks; and several parking spots. No word on when the installation of the new playground equipment will begin, but we hope it's soon!

Backhoes and workers were hard at labor this week, clearing paths and laying concrete for new sidewalks.
New sidewalks were being installed this week at the intersection of Briarwood Road and Briarwood Way, just outside the Briarwood Recreation Center. Briarwood Rec has seen a lot of effort and cleanup lately, thanks to the Friends Of Briarwood Park. Now, it looks like the intersection right outside the facility is getting an upgrade too. Check out this short video that Patch took Wednesday afternoon, of all of the activity.
