Last week's gas leaks in several parts of DeKalb County have heightened neighborwood worries over Atlanta Gas Light's regulator station being built in the Clairmont Road/Tanglewood Circle community. In a letter to DeKalb Commissioner Jeff Rader, state Rep. Scott Holcomb and other public officials, Lori Muskat, who heads up the Clairmont Community Alliance, wrote, "Residents in the vicinity of the Eastside Pipeline project are very concerned about the occurrence of three major gas leaks within the past five weeks, two of which occurred in different locations yesterday." Two members of the Clairmont Community Alliance are set to appear at a Thursday hearing on the controversial project.
Two local residents are set to appear Thursday morning before the Georgia Public Service Commission, talking about Atlanta Gas Light's plans to build to a gas regulator station near PDK Airport. Lori Muskat and Cheryl Huvardon are both members of the Clairmont Community Alliance, a group of residents opposed to the project being built in the Tanglewood Circle and Clairmont Road communities. Neighbors say the gas company has not provided answers to their concerns about a gas pipeline station being constructed in PDK's flight path.
A group of concerned residents say they have not received any answers from AGL Resources regarding their concerns about the company's gas regulator station that is being placed in DeKalb-Peachtree Airport's flight path. In a list of questions regarding the project, leaders of the Clairmont Community Alliance say Atlanta Gas Light project representatives were unaware that the station was being built in PDK's flight path.
