Natural Body Helps Pamper Deserving Grandmothers

The Dress for Success event partnered to honor grandmothers raising their grandchildren.

 

Dress for Success Atlanta and Walmart partnered to honor 12 women raising their grandchildren. The gradmothers were slected through an application process and received two complimentary spa services at the on Dresden Drive this week.

Walmart provided seed funding for the Dress for Success Atlanta’s Professional Women’s Groups’ Community Action Project to identify a local community issue and create a community action plan. Grandparents raising grandchildren was identified as a growing concern in the community.
 
The 2010 Census data indicates an increase in children being raised by extended family such a grandparents. In Georgia, more than 300,000 children younger than 18 live in homes headed by grandparents or other relatives, according to the report.
