Nearby: Women Run Reindeer Romp for Health on Saturday

The second annual running of the shemoves Atlanta Reindeer Romp 5K will take place Saturday morning at nearby Chastain Park.

Runners should dress appropriately for the weather. Although the temperature will be near 49 degrees at race time, there will be a 48 percent chance of rain. The 80 percent chance of rain overnight Friday means runners should look out for puddles and spots made slick by the rainfall.

The race will take place in and around the confines of Chastain Park.

Online registration ends Friday at 5 p.m., with in-store registration available at Big Peach Running Co. Brookhaven at 705 Town Blvd., through 8 p.m. on Friday. But runners can still register on race day from 8-9:15 a.m. at the park.

Packet pick-up and race day registration will take place on the roof of The Chastain Park Tennis Center, 110 W Wieuca Road Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30342. All participants registered will receive Long-Sleeve Female Fit Tech Tops.

Awards will be handed out for the top three overall and top three within age groups that start at 14-and-under, and progress through 65 and up. Stroller and mom & pup categories also will receive awards.

The mission of shemoves, according to the organization's website, is to empower women by providing the support and events necessary to engage in an active, healthy, balanced lifestyle.
