Saturday, March 12, marked the day of the Opening Ceremony of the 2011 Murphey Candler Girls Fastpitch Softball season. More than 400 girls (including traveling teams)  and more than two dozen teams play in the girls fastpitch softball league each Spring.  Murphey Candler Girls’ Softball Association (MCGSA) introduced girls’ fastpitch softball to Atlanta in 1968.
