Marist Tennis Teams Serve Up Wins in State Tournament

Boys, girls advance to second round, Chamblee squads elminated

reign in Class AAAA was on full display in the first round of the Georgia High School Association tennis tournament as both squads, which have the honor of being a No. 1 seed, swept the opposition during the opening matches.

The boys knocked off Winder-Barrow 3-0 and the girls defeated Madison County 4-0 to advance to the second round.

Up next for the boys, No. 2 seed Lambert. Their female counterparts will face Chattahoochee, which is also a No. 2 seed. Both matches are slated for Wednesday, April 27.

Chamblee sent both the boys and girls to the tournament; however, they didn’t have the same luck as Marist. The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs were eliminated from the tournament. Chamblee’s boys lost to Madison County 5-0. The girls were blanked by Heritage (Conyers) 5-0.
