Brookhaven Bolt 5k Race

Run, Walk and Stroll with the Brookhaven Bolt to Support Ashord Park Elementary

Atlanta - April 6, 2011 - The Brookhaven Bolt 5k Race hits the streets of Brookhaven on Saturday, May 14 at 8:00 am to support Ashford Park Elementary. Starting and finishing at Village Place Brookhaven, the Brookhaven Bolt, presented by Clark Caskey, LLC Attorneys at Law, is a 5k run, walk, stroller push through Ashford Park, one of Brookhaven’s most beautiful neighborhoods.   Since 2008 the Brookhaven Bolt has raised $57,000 for Ashford Park Elementary.

"The Brookhaven community has embraced the Brookhaven Bolt.  What started in 2008 with a small group of neighborhood residents has grown into a very special community event," said Darren Miller with the Brookhaven Bolt.   "We expect more than 1000 runners, walkers and strollers on May 14.  This support helps us provide Ashford Park Elementary with much needed monetary assistance in an effort to provide our children with a wonderful educational experience."

The 4th annual race runs through the beautiful rolling hills of Ashford Park and offers a moderate challenge to the runners.  The start and finish lines are at Village Place Brookhaven on Dresden Drive.  With the addition of Village Place Brookhaven and Town Brookhaven, Brookhaven is a vibrant and growing community, which is quickly becoming one of the most desirable communities in Atlanta.

  • Powerade - Official beverage sponsor of the Brookhaven Bolt
  • Kid friendly area with jump castles and games
  • Race day specials and early openings at a number of Village Place Brookhaven restaurants

  • Bagels, bananas and muffins for all runners, walkers and strollers

 

"We are thankful for all the support from the Brookhaven Bolt and our community," said Toni Fallon, Principal of Ashford Park Elementary School.  "The proceeds from the race provide us with much needed resources to help our school continue to provide the best education to our students."

Registration for the Brookhaven Bolt is $20 with all of the proceeds benefitting Ashford Park Elementary School.  All race participants will receive a race t-shirt and race bag with coupons from sponsors.  Race day registration is also available for $25

at the start area at Village Place Brookhaven.   Donations are also accepted at www.brookhavenbolt.com for those unable to make the race.

Parking for participants is at the Brookhaven Marta station, a short .3-mile warm-up stroll away from the starting area.
