DeKalb Schools Football: Week Eight Recap

Stephenson shuts down Tucker for key region win.

The Chamblee Bulldogs shut out Columbia, posting 34 points on the scoreboard. Chamblee ran its record to 6-0 for the first time since its 12-2 Class AAA semifinal appearance in 2007 when they won seven straight to open the season.

Stephenson 13, Tucker 6

The No. 4 ranked Stephenson Jaguars shut down the No. 2 Tucker Tigers’ vaunted rushing attack for a 13-6 win in a key Region 6-AAAAA game at Hallford Stadium on Friday.

Stephenson (5-0, 5-0) kept pace with No. 3 ranked Martin Luther King Jr. atop the Region 6-AAAAA standings as the Lions remained undefeated at 6-0 overall with its 40-17 win over Dunwoody on Thursday night.

Southwest DeKalb 42, North Atlanta 7
The Southwest DeKalb Panthers moved closer to a possible playoff berth with a 42-7 victory over North Atlanta at the Georgia Dome on Saturday.

The Panthers (4-2, 3-2) needed a win to stay in the playoff hunt with Miller Grove sitting at 4-1 in Region 6-AAAAA action.
