Cross Keys Football Hopes Past Struggles Will Inform New Success

The Indians are coming off an 0-9 record last year.

Cross Keys' football team is hoping a dreadful, winless season last year could provide the grist for an improved campaign this fall as it prepares for its first game next month.

“We’ve had ninth graders playing varsity football against top programs in our region such as Buford, Greater Atlanta Christian and Westminster in the past,” Indians’ Head Coach David Radford told Neighbor Newspapers last week. “The guys who stuck with our program have gained experience and built their confidence. This is the first year that I can put 12 guys on defense and believe that each player knows what he is doing.”

The Indians posted an 0-9 record last season, according to GPB Sports. They open their season against B.E.S.T. Academy at Adams Stadium on Aug. 30.
