Antlers Up, Brookhaven!

The Bucks are back for their second season at Oglethorpe University.


The Brookhaven Bucks, a collegiate summer baseball team, will begin their second season with their season opener at Oglethorpe University on Saturday, June 2, 2012.

First pitch is at 4:15pm. 

“We won our division and set a record for attendance, with more than 2,200 fans, in our first season," said Bucks' owner John Davis. "Our goals this year are to increase attendance and win the Sunbelt League championship."

The 2012 Bucks will be coached by Nick Hogan, a Brookhaven resident and graduate of St. Pius High School and Georgia State University, where he currently serves as director of baseball operations. 

Hogan was a first-team All-State baseball player at St. Pius and was a key player in leading Georgia State to a CAA conference championship.

The Bucks are part of the Sunbelt League, whose mission is to provide top-level college baseball players an opportunity to compete in a wooden-bat summer league. The league features eight teams in Alpharetta, Norcross, Douglasville, Marietta, Peachtree City, McDonough and Brookhaven. 

Players are recruited from colleges throughout the southeastern United States, including the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Ole Miss and North Georgia.

The Sunbelt League is a member of the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball and the Major League Baseball Foundation.
