What qualities would you like DeKalb's next Superintendent to have?

Editor Stephanie L. Arnold polled the asked the heads of local PTA organizations the qualities they'd like to see in the next Superintendent for DeKalb County.

Three finalists up for DeKalb Schools' top job will be introduced tonight and answer questions from the public at the Administration and Instructional Complex at 6 p.m.  

We asked two of our local PTA presidents what they would like to see in the system's next superintendent and here's what they had to say.

Butch Butler, President, Montgomery Elemtary PTA

Qualities I'd like to see: Integrity, honesty, credibility, intelligence, good sense of humor, leadership skills and strong communication skills.

Bob said about Thursday's meeting: "I thinks it's wonderful and it shows transparency."

Diane Allers, President, Ashford Park PTA

Qualities I'd like to see: Well-spoken, honest and believes in transparency.  

Allers said, "The Superintendent should be a proactive, forward-thinking, creative problem solver who is results driven.  I feel strongly that the Superintendent should place importance on leadership and communication, within both the school system and the community."
