Update: Ashford Park Elementary Paving Bricks Located

The bricks were part of a fundraising program for a major school improvement project.

About 200 brick pavers that had been removed from the grounds of Ashford Park Elementary School have been found.

The Ashford Park School Education Foundation was selling custom, personalized bricks to benefit its latest school improvement project.

Over the Thanksgiving break, Ashford Park Elementary School's current walkway was removed and replaced with red bricks. The foundation is overseeing the construction of a new front walkway at the school's entrance.

During summer 2013, a new brick plaza at the carpool destination along Tryon Road will also be installed.

An email from the Ashford Park Civic Association alerted Patch early Tuesday morning that the bricks had been removed. Later in the morning morning, we were notified that the bricks had been located.
