Oglethorpe's Student Athlete of the Week

junior men's soccer player Frank Petersen of Woodstock, Ga. has been selected as the Petrel Council's Athlete-of-the-Week for his outstanding performances on the soccer pitch.

Petersen had an excellent weekend in net to lift Oglethorpe to two road wins. He recorded a shutout in Friday’s win over Hendrix, denying all nine shots the Warriors put on target. He let one through on Sunday against Colorado College but still tallied five huge saves in the Petrel victory, giving him 14 stops on the weekend. On the season Petersen now has 41 saves fifth best in the conference and two shutouts.

The Petrels, meanwhile, are a school-best 10-2-0 on the season and will look to set a program record by notching their 8th straight win this Friday at Rhodes College.
