Montgomery Elementary School students returned to school early this month with a makeover thanks to the PTA and community partners.
More than 100 volunteers from The Coca-Cola company painted, prepped, planted and cleaned Montgomery Elementary School as part of a special community project in July.
On the inside, fresh coats of paint and artwork brightens the hallways, cafeteria, bulletin boards and signage.
The Media Center also underwent a complete refurbishing with new carpet, book carts, and furniture, thanks to Montgomery parent Tiffany Harran. Outside, new plants and pinestraw enhanced landscaping to create a welcoming entrance to the school.
Concorde Fire Soccer Club resurfaced the walking track/path to encourage students to participate in the Montgomery’s popular health and wellness programs. The new paths will allow students to walk or un laps on the new track and record their progress. Concorde also donated and installed mulch on the playground.
“We are so fortunate at Montgomery to have such involvement from our parents, PTA and community,” said Esther Silvers, Principal of Montgomery Elementary School. “It was wonderful to watch the students’ excitement..."
