Marist School Women to Construct Tenth House This Spring

The group will work in partnership with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.

Donned in pink hard hats and a tool belt, more than 400 women from the community will pick up their hammers to build a home for a single mother and her family this Spring.Β

The future homeowner will work alongside students, mothers, grandmothers and Marist School faculty over the course of seven weekends to complete the home, Marist announced this week in a press release. The women will perform all the duties necessary to building a house including pouring concrete, erect roof trusses, hang siding, painting.

The group - Marist Women Build - formed eight years ago as a committee to partner with the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity to build affordable housing for women, built by women, the release said.
