Marist Softball Team Advance to State Playoffs, Game Starts Today
The Lady War Eagles won their 7th consecutive Region Championship.
Defeating Lakeside-DeKalb in a 7-1 blowout at Kitchens Field, the Lady War Eagles secured their seventh consecutive Region Championship and is slated to host Wednesday night the first round of the AAA State Playoffs.
Marist is scheduled to play Region 5 opponent Kell Longhors in the Best of 3 series. The first game will start at 5 p.m.
The Lady War Eagles completed an undefeated region season and defeated Chamblee (10-0) and Lakeside-DeKalb twice (7-6 & 7-1) in the double-elimination region tournament.

According to Marist's website,fFreshman pitcher Grace Packer, recorded all 3 tournament wins. Sophomore shortstop Taylor Bradley led the offense with a .700 batting average over the 3 games.
