Former Marist Pitcher Named Golden Glove Award Winner

The Alpharetta native now pitches for Florida State University

Having helped lead the War Eagles to the 2012 and 2011 AAAA State Baseball Championships, former pitcher Brandon Leibrandt received the 2011 Rawlings Golden Glove Award.

The pitcher, who now plays for Florida State University in Tallahassee, is among only 9 players in the country at the high school level to receive the award.

Nine players at the NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, Junior College Division I, II, and III and the high school level.

According to the award website, the recognition is 'the benchmark by which all defense is measured. The award remains the highest symbol of defensive excellence'.
