Five Marist Athletes Sign with Universities

Standout athletes in volleyball, football, soccer and golf have accepted offers.

Five student-athletes have accepted offers to play their respective sports at universities across the country. This report was contributed by Marist Communications Manager Leslie Dunn.

Meghan Connolly

Sport: Volleyball

College: University of Pennsylvania

Residence: Atlanta

Meghan has been a member of the Lady War Eagles varsity volleyball team for three years and was named to the 2010 Seniors All-Star Team.  She was a member of the Marist volleyball team that finished as AAAA State Runner-Up in 2009 and advanced to the AAAA State SemiFinals in 2010 for Head Coach Anna Bush.  In addition to volleyball, Meghan is a member of the National Honor Society and French National Honor Society.

 

Mitchell Anderson

Sport: Football

College: Presbyterian University

Residence: Tucker

Mitchell is a three-year varsity letterman in football and was a member of the 2010 AAAA State Baseball State Champions.  He played defensive line for Head Football Coach Alan Chadwick and excels in the classroom and well as the football field.  He is an Honor Roll student and a member of the Latin Club.

 

Savannah Grice

Sport: Golf

College: Dartmouth College

Residence: Atlanta

Savannah is headed to the Ivy League to play for the Dartmouth Women’s Golf Team in the fall of 2011.  She is a four-year member of the Marist Varsity Girls Golf Team and was the 2010 Region 6-AAAA Medalist for the War Eagles.  She is pictured with Chan Reeves, Teaching Pro at the Atlanta Athletic Club and Mike Trapani, Marist Girls Golf Head Coach.

 

Robert Botchway

Sport: Soccer

College: University of Pennsylvania

Residence: Dacula

Robert is dedicated to playing soccer and has participated on numerous teams at the highest levels of competition including 2011 USA 18U National Men’s Team (call-up), 2007 USA 15U Boys National Team.  He was a member of the War Eagle’s 2009 AAAA State Champions and 2010 AAAA State Semifinalists.  Robert is also excels in the classroom as a National Merit Honor Finalist and Merit Honor Winner.

 

Jordan Snellings

Sport: Football

College: Furman University

Residence: Ellenwood

Jordan is a two-year varsity football letter winner as a wide receiver for the War Eagles.  He led the team in receiving his junior and senior seasons and was selected First Team All-DeKalb County in 2010.  In addition to football, Jordan also plays basketball for Marist.
