Enjoy a Last Dance at Chamblee High Gym

New school building opens in 2014.

From Chamblee Charter High School:

CCHS will hold a "Last Dance" on Dec. 13 to celebrate the end of an era – the old building of this nearly 100 year old school is about to be demolished.

With it go high school memories for many who live in and around the area. Alumni, students, parents and everyone in the surrounding community are invited to grab their sweeties and come enjoy one last dance in the old gym to relive the pleasures of high school before the old building is bulldozed to make way for the new.

The Last Dance in the old gym will start at 6:15 p.m. and last until 11:30. Area restaurants will contribute delicious food, and all proceeds go toward purchasing items teachers need for the new high school’s labs, library and classrooms.

Chamblee Charter High School was ranked No. 215 in the top 1500 best public high schools by Newsweek magazine.  This Blue Ribbon School of Excellence (1994) has the highest SAT scores of any public school in DeKalb County and 10th highest in Georgia. About to move into a handsome new building on the eve of it's 100th birthday in 2017, the school is rightly a source of Bulldog Pride for the Chamblee and Brookhaven communities.

Chamblee Charter High School is located on Chamblee Dunwoody Road just one block from Peachtree Boulevard (formerly Peachtree Industrial.)  The new building is beautifully designed and landscaped and could be mistaken for a college campus.

Phase I will be ready to occupy when students return from the winter break Jan. 7.  Phase 2, primarily the auditorium, fine arts building and athletic fields will be ready in August of 2014.
