Chamblee Schools Clinch Track Titles

This was Chamblee's third middle school championship in the past four seasons.

The Chamblee girls’ and Henderson boys’ claimed the 2012 DeKalb County
Middle School track titles on Monday at Panthersville Stadium in a pair of
close finishes in the overall standings as four meet records fell despite
the rainy weather.

Chamblee claimed girls’ title by edging out Peachtree 69.50 to 66 with
Henderson a close third with 63 points. It was Chamblee’s third middle
school championship in the past four seasons having won in 2009 and 2010.

Chamblee’s overall depth provided the winning margin as the team scored
points in all 11 events including double gold medal winner Venida Fagan.
Fagan won the 200 meter dash in a time of 25.74 and then took the 400
meter dash with a time of 58.63.
