Chamblee Middle School Hosts Healthy Lifestyles Fair

The event was held Friday, Oct. 26.

About 900 Chamblee Middle School students zumba’d, jumped and snacked while learning how to choose a healthy lifestyle.

The Oct. 26 Healthy Lifestyles Fair included more than a dozen local resources that support healthy living. Lisa Engle, the PTSA Wellness Chairperson, said, "The fair is designed to provide information, equipping the kids to make educated, healthy lifestyle choices. Realizing there is choice in our lifestyle is an important part of empowering our kids to be healthier tomorrow."

The local resources provided the kids with information about nutrition, physical fitness opportunities, the importance of posture and structural integrity, awareness of skin care additives, fire safety, drug awareness, and oral healthcare.

"We are hoping to make this an annual community event in the years to come," said Engle.

Area vendors included the Chamblee Fire Department, Arbonne International, Natural Body Spa, Atlantis Natural Foods, JumpStart, Whole Foods, Dr. Carlisle Chiropractic, Cowlicks, i9 Sports, Adrenaline Fitness, Publix, and Ashford Dunwoody YMCA, the Jewish Community Center, Life University, the DeKalb Co. Board of Health, and Pediatric Dental and Orthodontics.
