Ashford Park School Principal to Retire This Month

After five years leading the elementary school, Toni Fallon is calling it quits.

Toni Fallon, an educator for more than three decades and the principal at for the last five years, will retire this month.

Fallon is widely credited with Ashford Park School's success having been designated a 'Gold School' by the State of Georgia for its achievement on the Adequate Yearly Progress (PTA) annually. Ashford Park School met AYP standards this year.

Former Ashford Park PTA Vice President Diane Allers said Fallon has been a "dynamic and devoted" principal during her tenure leading the 500-student school K-5 school.

"She has been one of the driving forces behind the improvement of our school and the engagement of our community in support of the school," Allers said. While the community is very sad to see Ms. Fallon leave her position and our school, we wish her the best for her retirement.Β  We will miss her."

While Fallon did confirm her retirement, she was unavailable for comment at the time of this report.

Rosalind McIntyre, a retired principal from Decatur, will take over for Fallon interim capacity until a new principal is found. Fallon's last day is Dec. 16.
