Five-Story Apartment Complex Under Construction at Town Brookhaven

The building's 300 units could be open for business in this year's fourth quarter.

A five-story apartment complex is under construction behind Town Brookhaven and could be open for business by this year's fouth quarter, the developer said Monday.

Fairfield Residential, a San Diego, Calif., company, is building the complex with 300 units on 3.4 acres purchased from the The Sembler Company in August 2011, said Tommy Brunson, a Fairfield vice president. Sembler had intended to build condos on the lot before selling the land.

"There just wasn't a market for condo product at the time," Brunson said.
