Two City Meet and Greets Planned for This Week

The mayor and council members will host question and answer sessions at the Brookhaven Food Truck Roundup on Wednesday.

Brookhaven residents will have two opportunities this week to talk with the mayor and city council members.

The mayor and council members will host question and answer sessions at the Brookhaven Food Truck Roundup on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at the city tent at Blackburn Park.

On Thursday, the city will host a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. in Oglethorpe University’s Lupton Hall. The mayor, council members and city manager will provide an update on the search for a parks and recreation director, the parks maintenance contract, the budget and service delivery. The city’s geographic information systems staff will also give a presentation on how to use the new online Brookhaven map application.

“We are committed to being transparent and providing ample opportunities for residents and business owners to answer questions and learn about what’s going on in Brookhaven,” Mayor J. Max Davis said.

Brookhaven Police Deputy Chief Ron Freeman will also answer questions at Thursday’s town hall.

“We are trying to get out into the community more and greet residents,” Mayor Pro Tem Rebecca Chase Williams said. “The Food Truck Roundup is just another example of events for our residents to greet their elected leaders.”

In addition to the mayor and city council meet and greet on Wednesday, this week’s Food Truck Roundup will feature additional children’s activities, including the Atlanta Braves B.A.T. Team T-ball booth, children’s group games with the Ashford Dunwoody YMCA teen program and children’s tennis with the Universal Tennis Academy.

  • Wed., Sept. 18, 5-9 p.m. - City question and answer session at the Brookhaven Food Truck Roundup at Blackburn Park
  • Thurs., Sept. 19, 7 p.m. – Town hall meeting at Oglethorpe University’s Lupton Hall

Brookhaven children’s activities:

Wed., Sept. 18 – Brookhaven Food Truck Roundup at Blackburn Park

  • 5-9 p.m. - Braves B.A.T. Team T-ball booth
  • 5-6:30 p.m. – Universal Tennis Academy children’s tennis activities
  • 6-8 p.m. – Children’s group games and parachute activities hosted by the Ashford Dunwoody YMCA teen program
