Chamblee City Council To Hear Recommendation For Streetscape Bid

Chamblee is embarking on a $250,000 Peachtree Road streetscape project.


The Chamblee City Council is expected to hear a recommendation for the lowest bidder on a $250,000 streetscape project at its meeting Tuesday night.

The project entails a six-foot-wide sidewalk and a two-foot-wide section of paved brick along Peachtree Road, according to Champion Newspapers.Β  The new addition will begin at the intersection of Peachtree and Chamblee Tucker roads and end at Pierce Drive.

Bids for the project were extended until April 6, 11Alive reported.

Also on the agenda are two variance requests, including one from the owner of 10 Gentry's Walk is requesting a variance to the requirement that buildings over three stories be constructed with concrete and steel framing.

Chamblee's city attorney also will introduce proposals to amend the alcohol ordinance and the noise ordinance.
