Qualifying Starts Tuesday for Chamblee Candidates

Three seats on Chamblee City Council are up for election

Starting Tuesday, Aug. 30, candidates will begin to qualify for three city council seats, according to the Chamblee City Clerk's office.

The city will elect three council seats to four year terms in November. Council seats whose term expire this year is the District 2 seat held by Leslie C. Robson; the District 3 seat held by Thomas Hogan, and the At-Large Seat held by Dan Zanger.

The terms for Mayor, District 1 and a second At-large seat term expire in 2013.

Qualifying runs through Thursday, Sept. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Those interested in qualifying should file notice with the City Clerk's Office at 5468 Peachtree Road Chamblee, 30341. The cost is $216.

New Chamblee residents who were annexed into the city in January will be unable to qualify this election, but will be able to vote in November.Β
