Lakeside City Alliance Announces Contract for Cityhood Study
The group has finished raising the $30,000 needed to pay for the state-mandated study by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
The Lakeside City Alliance has signed a contract with the University of Georgia to begin a feasibility study for its proposed city of Lakeside, the group's organizers said Tuesday.
The alliance has met its goal to raise $30,000 for the study, which will be done by the university's Carl Vinson Institute of Government, said Mary Kay Woodworth, the group's chairman. The group held a press conference Tuesday morning in front of the county government's Manuel J. Maloof Center where the board of commissioners meets to announce the milestone.
