City Unveils New Logo

Lawrenceville-based Accent Creative Group designed the logo to represent Brookhaven's history and future growth.

Brookhaven, Georgia’s newest city, unveiled its official logo Thursday.

After several meetings with the mayor, city council members and city staff, the team at Lawrenceville-based Accent Creative Group designed the logo to represent Brookhaven’s history and future growth.

The blue wave swoosh signifies not only the city’s location inside the perimeter but, the city’s beautiful bodies of water, including Peachtree Creek, Nancy Creek, Silver Lake and Murphey Candler Lake. The green cityscape embodies Brookhaven’s historical architecture and promise for clean economic development.

“We are excited to have a new logo that represents the city’s natural beauty and unique location of being 100 percent inside the perimeter,” Mayor J. Max Davis said. “We wanted something that unites all Brookhaven residents and businesses, and gives us something as a city to be proud of.”

Brookhaven selected Accent Creative Group to create its logo because of the boutique agency’s reputation as a highly sought after design firm. Having created eye-catching logos and designs for clients such as Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation, Lake Lanier Islands and the cities of Duluth, Snellville, Johns Creek and Suwanee, among others. Accent Creative Group was most recently awarded the international Gold Davey Award for its design of the City of Peachtree Corners’ logo. The award is one of the highest honors in the graphic design industry.

“It is always such an honor to be selected to design a logo on behalf of a city,” said Pam Ledbetter, president of Accent Creative Group. “It becomes a recognizable part of the overall brand. My team and I are thrilled to be a part of the unveiling of Brookhaven’s logo after months of working with the mayor and city council. We will be so proud to see it grace everything from the city web site to signage all over town.”

The firm also designed the Brookhaven Police Department’s patch. The 54-officer department launched on July 31.

This report was prepared by the city and edited for publication.
