Chamblee City Council Lacks Quorum for Meeting, Reschedules for Sept. 25

The Chamblee City Council will hold its regular meeting on Sept. 25 because it lacked quorum needed to hold one on Tuesday.

The Chamblee City Council was scheduled to hold its regular meeting on Tuesday night, but lacked the number of members to make the quorum needed to hold any official business.

Mayor Scott Taylor, District 3 City Councilman Tom Hogan and At-Large City Councilman Dan Zanger were all absent Tuesday night.

Only a handful showed, but residents were still entering the Chamblee Civic Center when the council members explained that the Tuesday night meeting had been rescheduled for Sept. 25.

Council members are expected to vote on the purchase of four new police patrol cars that will be needed if the city's proposed annexation passes. If voters reject the proposed annexation, the four cars will replace older cars of the police department's fleet.
