Celebrate Chamblee This Month With Family, Food and Fun

Annual Premier Event Set for Saturday, May 19

The City of Chamblee is planning its first ever city-wide festival in an effort to showcase its diversity through cultural activities.

'Celebrate Chamblee' is scheduled for Saturday, May 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Chamblee City Hall area in 5468 Peachtree Road.

Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in salsa lessons and line dancing, and enjoy mariachi band performances, Asian drumming and traditional Chinese and Taiwanese dancing. Pop, R&B music will be performed by area groups.

“Celebrate Chamblee has something for all ages — music, arts and crafts, food, a kids’ play area and much more,” says City Manager and CEO Niles Ford in a press release. “Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and the whole family for a full day of fun and celebration.”

The event is free and open to the public with food — both local and international dishes — beverages and desserts available for purchase from participating vendors from Chamblee and surrounding areas.

There will also be a kids play area for Young festival goers that will feature moon walks, clowns, an art studio and face painting, among other activities.
