Buckhead Votes in Presidential Primary, MOST Election

Super Tuesday poll hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Buckhead voters go to the polls Tuesday for the Georgia presidential primary and to decide whether to extend the municipal option sales tax for four years.

In the Georgia GOP presidential primary, voters will decide on awarding delegates to candidates Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum or Ron Paul. President Barack Obama will be on the Democratic ballot. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia will award 76 delegates, which will be awarded both by congressional district and on a statewide basis, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The MOST election will decide on contiuing the tax that goes toward funding city sewer system improvements under a consent decree with the federal government. City officials have said that sewer bills could go up by as much as 30 percent if the tax is not extended. For informtion, see the Department of Watershed Management's website.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp's My Voter Page contains voting information, including sample ballots and finding one's precinct location. Also, here is an interactive Fulton County map with voting locations.

Kemp's office said that voters will be required to show one of six forms of ID: A Georgia driver’s license, even if expired; any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free voter ID card issued by your county registrar or Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS); valid U.S. passport; valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority, or other entity of this state; valid U.S. military photo ID; or valid tribal photo ID.

Presidential primary election results will be displayed on the secretary of state’s website for each county and U.S. congressional district (sos.ga.gov). Additionally, updates will be posted periodically via Twitter (@GASOSKemp) and Facebook (GASOSKemp).
The Stop Voter Fraud website allows Georgians to report any questionable election activity online or via the Stop Voter Fraud hotline. Citizens who witness questionable election-related activity can submit a stop voter-fraud form, or call the secretary of state’s voter fraud hotline at 877-725-9797. Georgia voters can access the stop voter-fraud website at sos.ga.gov.
