Petition Asks Brookhaven to Settle With Pink Pony

Brookhaven resident launches grassroots effort, website.

With a DeKalb judge dismissing the Pink Pony's lawsuit against Brookhaven for being prohibited from selling alcohol, and the Alcohol Board of Appeals sustaining the city's action, a grassroots effort is underway to get Brookhaven to settle with the adult club.

Kathy Forbes, a longtime Brookhaven resident and board member with the Brookhaven Peachtree Community Alliance, has launched a website and petition asking the city "to leave the Pink Pony alone."

"Despite the pleas from the community, the conclusive results of the telephone poll, and the outcome of the roundtable discussion with the mayor where not one single person in attendance supported the position of the city – our elected officials have remained steadfast in their determination to enforce their ordinance and their will," said Forbes in an email to Patch. "It is as if the telephone poll never happened and there was no such thing as constituents."
