Brookhaven Ordinances Bringing City Into Line With DeKalb's Laws

Many of the ordinances being adopted by the city council are simple measures to bring the new city's laws in line with DeKalb's.

The Brookhaven City Council has adopted numerous ordinances over the past few weeks, but most of them have been measures simply to bring new city's laws in line with DeKalb County's existing laws.

That includes an ordinance coming before the council on Tuesday night, that relates to adult-oriented businesses within the city limits.

"Our new ordinance will mostly mirror what DeKalb already has in place, which is a ban on establishments that offer alcohol and nude dancing," said Brookhaven Mayor J. Max Davis. "But it will also have our own wording and language, and will be a stronger and more fair ordinance that what DeKalb has in place."
