Brookhaven or Chamblee: The Battle for Sexton Woods

Chamblee wants to annex the unincorporated portion of Sexton Woods, along with an adjacent commercial area including the Peachtree Golf Course along with another commercial district that includes a Publix grocery store and a smattering of restaurants in a local shopping center, Channel 2 news reported.

State Rep. Mike Jacobs who introduced the City of Brookhaven legislation in the General Assembly in the Spring, told Channel 2 that Chamblee's efforts to annex the unincorporated portion of Sexton Woods would hurt adjacent neighborhoods and makes the proposed City of Brookhaven very narrow and difficult to service.

Chamblee Mayor Eric Clarkston told Channel 2 that the city would need to take in some commercial area in order for the city to annex the residential community of just over 200 homes.
