Two Debates Set For Brookhaven Candidates

One debate will involve the District 2 candidates and the other will focus on mayoral candidates.

The Ashford Park Civic Association and the Drew Valley Civic Association have teamed up to present two debates featuring Brookhaven city candidates.

On Sept. 27, the candidates for City Council District 2--Jim Eyre, Larry Hurst and Russ Mitchell--will be at from 7 to 9 p.m. Scott Holcomb, District 82 state representative, will moderate.

Oct. 3 will see the mayoral candidates--Larry Danese, J.Max Davis, Sandy Murray and Thom Shepard--debating, also at Ashford Park Elementary, also from 7 to 9 p.m. Tom Hogan of the Chamblee City Council will moderate.

"We chose respected local politicians to moderate, as their expertise will be prove invaluable to those of us who have never had a Councilman or Mayor," Erica Mymudes, APCA treasurer, said. "Neither moderator has a vote in the City or District, so we feel confident that the evening will be on a level playing field."
