There is also a candidate forum for District 2 candidates on Thursday September 27th at 7pm at Ashford Park Elementary. I've not seen this published anywhere else yet but Russell Mitchell, candidate for district 2 has it on his Facebook page here... http://www.facebook.com/pages/Friends-of-Russell-Mitchell-for-City-Council-District-2-Brookhaven-GA/150961755044879

Who are the candidates in District 2 besides Larry Hurst and Russell Mitchell? I thought there was a candidate that had filed and then withdrew.

Russell Mitchell, Jim Eyre and Larry Hurst. Russell was on the board of C4ND and Brookhaven Yes and has been a vocal proponent of the city. Jim was on the board of the NoCity campaign and was a vocal opponent of the city. Larry was not on either board to my knowledge but has publicly stated that he reluctantly voted for the city.

I'm curious - how many on here would vote for a candidate who "was on the board of the NoCity campaign and was a vocal opponent of the city"

I don't live in district 2 but I could see the usefulness of electing a No City member from either 2 or 3 - well as long as they don't end one of their answers at the forum with the line .... special pickles blah blah blah ... or start delving into certain foreign governments manipulating the city of Brookhaven vote.

Everyone if they are the best candidate. To spin that around, how many people on here know that 75% of the Districts in the Brookhaven footprint voted NO to cityhood? Particularly of interest - the area always known as Brookhaven? This is why the vote was so important to be held during the primary instead of the general election when most people vote. http://theotherbrookhaven.blogspot.com/2012/09/post-4-brookhaven-series-we-got.html

Eric, I think I agree with what you said...if it boiled down to the best candidate should be the representative of each respective district. Otherwise, if you didn't mean that...then the heck with you! :)
